GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump holds a sizable lead in New Hampshire ahead of the first-in-the-nation primary, and Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida has moved into second place, according to a poll released Thursday.
Mr. Trump was at 36 percent support among likely GOP primary voters in the UMass Lowell/7News tracking poll, with Mr. Rubio in second place at 15 percent and Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas in third at 14 percent.
In Wednesday’s tracking poll, Mr. Trump had been at 38 percent, with Mr. Cruz at 14 percent and Mr. Rubio at 12 percent.
In the new poll, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush was next at 8 percent, followed by Ohio Gov. John Kasich at 7 percent, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie at 5 percent, retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson at 4 percent and former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina at 3 percent.
